Members of the Water group participated on the CERT Event, Community Disaster Preparedness Day, on Saturday Oct 11th 2014, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with the goal of telling people about TJT, and issues concerning emergency preparedness and water ethics. To accomplish this, Buck and Danny Buckley, Joe Gibson, Joe Fairbanks and Patricia Mencarelli, set up a booth with the Transition Joshua Tree banner, displays and literature. We showed people how to cook with the power of the sun, and we shared some solar cooked muffins and hard boiled eggs. With the water barrel display, we spoke of the importance of keeping an emergency water supply. With the rainwater catchment display we demonstrated how easy and effective it is to catch rain water. People sign up to get more information about Transition Joshua Tree, and we sold some water barrels.
