Get Rid of Junk Mail

One way to help the environment is to skinny down your mailbox. This site lists companies you can contact to remove your name from catalog and junk mailing lists. Make it a resolution to do this before the end of 2012!

Junk mail is more than a nuisance: unsolicited mail has a tremendous negative impact on the environment. Approximately 96 million trees are destroyed each year in the United States alone to produce junk mail, and 10 to 24 billion gallons of water are used to produce the paper. All of these resources are wasted to produce items that only evoke about a 2 percent response rate.
