Our Mission: Transition Joshua Tree is a grassroots movement that focuses on building sustainable community resilience in response to climate change, the global economic crisis, and the end of cheap fossil fuels.
Our Vision: Imagine a social and economic renaissance stretching from Morongo Valley in the west to Wonder Valley in the east that is firmly rooted in sustainable practices. We have learned a host of new skills such as generating local clean energy and alternative transportation systems, harvesting rainwater run-off, using gray water systems, composting, growing organic gardens, keeping bees, raising chickens. In this community of the not distant future we all understand and respect the essential relationship between ourselves and the natural world.
